Usage Note

Anak ng puta is one of the most serious curses in Filipino, considered highly offensive especially toward older people or in formal settings. Among close friends the shortened form is sometimes softened or used humorously, but learners should treat the full phrase as a strong expletive and use extreme caution.

Damn it, the glass fell!

Literal Translation

Child of-a whore, fell the glass!

Natural Translation

Child of-a whore, forgot I the key!

Literal Translation
